The architectural concept for this building utilizes contemporary forms, shapes and massing to respond to the building program, site constraints and visual impact to adjacent sites. The massing of the building forms undulate and step away from adjacent residential parcels by organizing the building program elements so that the least obtrusive and least vertical elements are sited nearest the residential parcels. The base of the building is constructed of integral color masonry balanced with colorful “stucco” materials that occur throughout the area. The forms, shapes and colors are organized in a playful hierarchy that emphasizes a place for families. The Family Resource Center provides comprehensive counseling and play therapy services that are tailored to meet the needs of children and their families.
